A Surbiton woman who survived breast cancer has urged residents to give up the booze as part of Cancer Research's Dryathlon.
Justine Charnley, 45, had cancer diagnosed after she brushed popcorn crumbs off her chest and discovered a lump.
The part-time estate agent, of Savery Drive, said after radiotherapy she wanted to give something back to the charity.
She said: "Dryathlon was a great way for me to feel like I was doing something to make a difference for all the other families who might go through a similar experience.
"I can’t deny that I found it really difficult. Going out for drinks after work was particularly hard, especially by the time everyone was on their third."
Last year's effort saw a total of £704,046 raised by Londoners who swore off the booze for a month - and there is still time to register for this year's campaign.
