Police searching for former Tiffin School student Aaron Gurmail have found a body believed to be that of the missing 24-year-old.

Mr Gurmail, from Surbiton, was last seen at 4pm on Monday, January 5.

A body was found earlier today, January 6, in Dorking and Mr Gurmail’s next of kin have been informed.

The death is being treated as non suspicious.

A post-mortem examination is set to take place in due course.

Mr Gurmail was a trainee dentist from Raeburn Avenue, who graduated with a degree in dentistry from Kings College London, having attended The Tiffin School in Kingston between 2001 and 2008.

He was also the recipient of the best chemistry student award while at the school’s sixth form.

Tiffin headteacher Hilda Clarke said today: “We have only just heard; it is tragic news. Our thoughts are very much with Aaron’s family. 

“He was a very good student at Tiffin and went on to study dentistry. 

"He came back to the school on several occasions to take part in talking to sixth formers about studying dentistry. 

“Aaron is a well-remembered student at Tiffin School and I know that the whole of the school community would want to express their deep sadness at the loss of somebody so young who had a bright future ahead of him.”

According to Mr Gurmail’s Linkedin profile, he was the president of the Tiffin Medical and Dental Society, a group of former Tiffinians holding annual mock interviews, reviewing personal statements and providing talks for prospective medical and dental students.

His profile also stated he had spent a month volunteering as a dental volunteer in Ghana and worked as a dental trainee at Abbey Dental Surgery in Slough, Berkshire.
