South west London and north Surrey are expecting wind speeds of slightly more than 20mph on Tuesday as Hurricane Gonzalo arrives in the country.
Some parts of the country in the north and Scotland are predicted to be hit by gale force winds of up to 60mph and heavy rain.
But the weather forecast for south west London and north Surrey is for colder, windy conditions with sunshine and a few blustery showers.
Hurricane Gonzalo battered buildings and pulled down power lines in Bermuda on Friday with wind speeds of 110mph.
In December storms flattened trees and caused flooding in towns in south west London including Sutton.
