An amateur dramatics group has braved the ice bucket challenge for charity – and nominated Kingston and Surbiton MP Edward Davey as the next challenger.
Chessington-based St Paul’s Players have named the Energy Secretary as one of their nominations for the charity challenge sweeping the world.
The group, which included former Surrey Comet unsung hero Sylvia Secrett, who is in her 80s, poured bucket loads of icy water over themselves for the Motor Neurone Disease Association.
In the video they say: “Come on Ed Davey!”
Their other nominations are St Marks Players and the Hinchley Wood Operatic Society.
St Paul’s Player Amanda Williams said: “A few years ago Ed would join in our shows. He’s dressed up as a nun and even as one of the seven dwarfs. But we haven’t seen him recently.
“We understand he’s busy but we have missed him on stage so we wondered whether he would rise to it.”
