A Tolworth newsagent can no longer sell alcohol after its licence was revoked over sales to children.

Ewell Food and Wine, in Ewell Road, came before Kingston Council's licensing committee yesterday after Kingston police asked for a review.

They said on one occasion staff sold two bottles of vodka and one of Jagermeister to a 14-year-old boy.

Another youth was later taken to hospital after being found drunk in Kingston.

Should be closed down the day the Licence was revoked. The law regarding alcohol in this country is simple to understand , what you can and cannot do. Failing that maybe confiscate the alcohol stock and close the shop down for say 3 months. during that time they would lose customers and stick a "Warning Notice" in the shop window advising its customers who use the job the type of owners they are supporting, then customers may shop elsewhere.!!

Glad the council took the step to take away the Licence, it will be a warning to others
