A drunk man who flooded a police cell after stuffing a blanket down the toilet was handed a conditional discharge.
Domonic Elmmers, from Marina Place, Hampton Wick, used a trouser button to scratch the walls of cell four at Kingston custody suite before putting a blanket down the toilet and flooding the room.
Kingston unveiled its revamped cells to the public in August 2013.
The 38-year-old was taken to the police station after officers found him drunk and disorderly and in possession of two wraps of cannabis outside the Foresters pub in Hampton Wick High Street on January 25.
Elmmers pleaded guilty to one count of being drunk and disorderly, one of possession of a class B drug and one of criminal damage to property valued at less than £5,000.
He was handed a conditional discharge of 12 months when he appeared at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, February 11, which means if he reoffends within the next year he could face jail.
Elmmers was also ordered to pay £100 compensation and the court ordered the drugs to be destroyed.
