The vice-chancellor of Kingston University sent coffee to protesters demonstrating today over pay.
Students and staff have picketed campuses in a University and College Union (UCU)-backed strike.
Vice-chancellor Julius Weinberg is meeting with staff to discuss their dispute.
Kingston UCU branch chairman Julian Wells said: “We have had a very strong picket at Knights Park and Penrhyn Road, and, I’m told, at Kingston Hill.
“We’re feeling that we have had a successful day.”
