Actress Jane Horrocks will be cutting a birthday cake for the Kingston Samaritans this Saturday.
The star, best known for playing Bubble in Absolutely Fabulous and her starring role in The Rise and Fall of Little Voice, will join the celebrations as the charity celebrates the 60th anniversary of the very first call to the national helpline.
Samaritans will be handing out cup cakes from 11am in Eden Street.
The Samaritans arrived in St Andrews Road Surbiton on May 10, 1968 when the first director, Roger Wild, bought the site. Forty five years later they are still there.
Last year, Kingston Samaritans answered around 43,000 calls for help.
