The future of a Surbiton primary school will be decided at a development control meeting this week.
Christ Church CoE Primary School on Pine Avenue has put in a planning applications asking to expand.
The new developments will allow the school to welcome 60 more pupils over the next two years.
A recent report by the National Audit Office called for 256,000 new school places by September 2014.
The plans involve building four classrooms in the place of two mobile rooms, and a new all-weather pitch with the potential to be leased out during out-of-school hours.
Surbiton councillors voted largely in favour of the application at a meeting on Wednesday.
Of the 14 residents who have responded, seven object to the plans.
The decision will be made on Tuesday, March 26.
