Arsonists could be responsible for a fire in a storage unit near a shopping area in the early hours of this morning.
The fire broke out in a unit behind WHSmith in Central Road, Worcester Park, at around 1.30am and police want anyone who was in the area at the time and to come forward.
Detective constable Matt Harris said he wants to know if anyone was seen running away from the area around Waitrose car park.
He said: "Setting light to any building is a very serious crime and could go on to cause serious injury or loss of life. We are asking for the public’s help to catch the person responsible."
If you have any information that could help police, please contact Det Con Harris on 020 8649 0747. Alternatively, you can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
