Police gave a dog owner a talking to after she left her pet pooches inside a parked car in Kingston during the hot weather this afternoon.

Officers were called to reports of dogs in distress inside a parked vehicle in Fife Road at about 2.15pm today.

A Kingston police spokeswoman said: “Officers attended and gave the driver words of advice after it was discovered that she had left the animals in the vehicle for around 10 minutes with only a window slightly ajar.

“The dogs were subsequently deemed as safe and well.”

Anyone know what the law would say if I or you was to smash a window to get animals out of hot car as they are suffering staying in the heat of car?

Is this instance, as the dogs where found safe and well. I would assume you would be arrested for criminal damage.
