A man completed a tough 100-mile challenge in less than 40 hours in aid of the hospice that cared for his friends.

Hugh-Guy Lorriman took on the Lakeland100 ultramarathon earlier this summer in aid of Trinity Hospice in Clapham.

He completed the Lake District circuit in just 37 hours and 12 minutes.

He had already completed the 56-mile London to Brighton ultramarathon in aid of Trinity, and wanted to do even more for the local hospice.

He said: "I have been raising money for Trinity for several years now, as two of my friends were cared for and died at Trinity six years ago. At the same time my wife was a nurse at Trinity. We both love the philosophy of care, love and hope that Trinity brings to patients, which really echoes its ethos to live every moment.

"I am aiming to raise £1,500 for Trinity as it is such an important and inspiring place. Only 40 per cent of starting runners make it, but with Trinity as my inspiration I was one of them."

There is still time to donate to Mr Lorriman’s fundraising page. If you would like to help him reach his target visit justgiving.com/Hugh-Guy-Lorriman4.
