he super-ethical fashion designer Tremaine Emroy has partnered with Our Legacy on a collection of sustainable gear.

In addition to having designed clothes for the likes of Virgil Abloh, Kanye West, and A$AP Rocky, it has also raised awareness of socio-political and environmental issues in everything he does. The band erupted into mainstream attention in streetwear after Kanye West was seen wearing its signature denim. From there on other celebrities began wearing Denim Tears such as  A$AP Nast, Ian Connor, Playboi Carti and many more.
Denim Tears has recently secured a two-year-long partnership with Levi’s, which began in early 2021. Ever since then he has released various pieces, each carrying a cotton wreath pattern. This is a way of casting light on the history of slavery on American plantations. The motif of a cotton wreath was inspired by Kara Walker’s Instagram post which depicted a picture of a cotton wreath during Christmas. This resonated with Tremaine Emroy and described the cotton wreath as if it were talking to you and ever since then has done an extensive research to learn more about the history of African Americans in the United States.
Furthermore, to celebrate black culture, he implemented the use of an African American flag across a plethora of Converse’ Chuck 70 Kicks. Denim Tears also used his social media influence to raise awareness not just of the sneakers, but of economic disparity in the United States, as well as actively encouraging the over 18’s to vote in the British Election.
Denim Tears is dropping a collection of  jeans next Tuesday at 9 AM PST. It includes the signature cotton wreath printed on different color 501 Vintage Levi blanks.
