Former Celebs Go Dating hosts, Nadia Essex and Eden Blackman had run the show for 4 seasons until celebrity dating agent, Eden decided to leave the show after season 4. Nadia however stayed on the show until she was suspended mid-season 5, and I’m here today to figure out why.
It was believed that Nadia had left the show on her own accord for personal reasons, until these revelations had been announced:
Nadia had set up fake social media accounts to spread false allegations and numerous lies concerning Eden Blackman, surrounding his personal life, leading him to resign the E4 show in March 2018 due to claims that he had cheated on his long-term girlfriend.
After an investigation was set into finding the person behind the mystery profiles trolling and abusing Eden, social media site, Twitter confirmed Nadia was the ‘mystery man’ behind the fake social media profiles.
Eden had called Nadia ‘utterly repugnant’ and asked Nadia for an apology, and with all guns blazing, Nadia accused Eden of bullying and harassment, causing them both to have an employment tribunal. The case was ongoing for 10 months until the judge threw the case off.
Nadia has been prevented from mentioning Eden ever again as she signed a harassment order. She’ll be faced with a fine or even serve jailtime if the order is broken. After enduring the harshness of Nadia’s abuse, Eden claimed to be nauseous and have anxiety ‘waking up every morning for two years.’ Sadly, Eden had been diagnosed with PTSD and was close to suicide due to the harshness of Nadia’s actions.
Eden said that: “there were a number of occasions that it got way too much, and I gave myself approval to end my life on a number of occasions because I just couldn’t deal with another day of some of the things Nadia was saying about me.”
“I remember a few times when people had called me that evening, just to check in, and they didn’t know that at that point they pretty much saved my life because I was on the edge.”
“I didn’t think another day of existing was not something I wanted. I’m not a religious person but I went to bed countless times and physically prayed next to my bed that I wouldn’t wake up the next morning simply due to the unfounded and wholly untrue allegations.”
Nadia had released a YouTube video explaining the whole situation yet has now deleted it.
Due to the seriousness of the situation, Nadia was ‘devastated’ after quitting her job on Celebs Go Dating as she was forced to move out of her home, with some friends and family leaving her in disbelief due to her accusations against Eden.
Nadia had said that her actions were made due to her ill mental health after the harassment she’d faced on her time on the show. She was admitted to hospital as everything was getting too much for her, in relation to her public feud with Eden.
A Celebs Go Dating spokesperson had said: “In addition to the support she received during Celebs Go Dating, following her departure independent psychological support still remains available to Nadia should she wish to accept it. The welfare of everyone involved in the making of our programmes is of paramount importance to us.”
After the harassment order was placed, Eden has said:
“Thankfully, I’m feeling positive, and I think a lot of that is the fact that we have this order, and I now don’t have to worry what Nadia Essex is saying about me.”
“I’m in a far better place. I’m looking forward to life. I’ve got a new sense of interest and excitement about me. I can look back, and I’m not ashamed of how I felt I think anyone in my position would have reacted the same way.”
I personally loved both Eden and Nadia as the dating agents on Celebs Go Dating. It’s hugely devastating that it had to come to this.
