Girls, girls, girls. Boys, boys, boys. Mixed together, congealed into a concocted manifestation of sweaty, lust-filled hormones...what do single sex schools offer? Now girls, imagine if you did not have to worry about waking up earlier than you should have to, to enable yourself the time to slap on an entire bottle of concealer just to impress the boys. And boys, imagine having no fears about how macho you have to appear in front of girls. These stress-free feelings are granted when you go to a single sex school. Girls, how do you like it, walking around, completely caked in MaxFactor foundation, just to get some gawking glances from the opposite sex or to get chatted up during a biology lesson when you’re supposed to be focusing on your worksheet? How on earth will there be room in your head for concentrating on your studies when stressed about your appearance or being distracted in lessons? Boys, how will you be focused and determined to get the A*’s that you want in order to get into a good university if the only thing you are focused on is girls? School life is difficult. However single sex schools could arguably be the answer to remove the stress and anxiety that mixed schools offer. Did you know that 33% of all schools in Britain are single sex and 24% of teens that go to a single sex school are more likely to get into their first-choice university based on grades? Single sex or mixed schools?
