A month ago, on 25 March, in Chiswick House, a schoolboy was beaten up and mugged at approximately 17:45pm in the evening.

The schoolboy said that ‘I was running in the park and saw a group of boys sitting by a bench, but ran past them thinking nothing of it, until a few minutes later they got to me.’

After seeing this gang of boys and running past them, it took a few minutes until the group of boys surrounded the schoolboy with their bikes. The schoolboy said that ‘they asked me for all my stuff, my phone, which they wiped, my shoes, hoodie, watch and earphones, before beating me up and leaving me there.’

Luckily, after the thugs had left, the schoolboy was able to find a family about to leave the park. He told them what happened and was able to use their phones and call his mother as well as the police.

It took around 10 minutes until the police arrived and they brought the schoolboy into their car where they drove to the boys house and discussed what would happen.

The schoolboy was ‘just happy’ that he was able to leave the scene without serious wounds. He had a black eye, a few bruises and scratches, however no knife wounds as the muggers used no weapons.

It is unlikely that the muggers will be caught due to a lack of fingerprint evidence as well as CCTV footage.

The schoolboy said that ‘it’s weird because you always talk about this stuff and never expect it to happen to you. But it did. I know now to be in safer and more public areas when alone, avoiding low-lit areas where muggers will be able to escape easily without people seeing them.’
