Founded in 1949, Streatham fencing club is the longest running fencing club in south-west London. Offering classes for ages 8 and up, it is a great way to learn this sport which was thought to originate from Spain. Streatham fencing club also gives you a chance to have free beginner fencing lessons as the club has recently won a grant to offer free lessons, to introduce people to the sport of fencing. The club is run on a 'not for profit' basis, by a small committee elected every November at the AGM. Coaching is provided by professional coaches, occasionally assisted by senior members. The club encourages fencers of all abilities and ambitions and prides itself on its inclusive atmosphere. The club has taken part in many different tournaments over the years and has a long history of taking part in many local team competitions in the SE Region. The fencing club is held at Dunraven School, and if you would like to get involved, contact the club at info@streathamfencingclub.com, or visit their website at: https://www.streathamfencing.org/index.html
