Wolfsburg 0 Fulham 1 (Fulham win 3-1 on aggregate)

Bobby Zamora's stock continued to rise as his goal inside the opening 22 seconds - his eight of the competition this season - fired Fulham into a Europa League semi-final meeting with Hamburg.

The striker stunned the home team and crowd but sent the 2,000 travelling supporters into dreamland, and they responded with the "Bobby for England" chants that must be growing harder for Fabio Cappello with every commanding display.

Zamora completely outshone his opposite number in the Wolfsburg ranks, Edin Dzeko, who has been rated at being worth 40m euros.

His goal - coming after a neat pass from the excellent Zoltan Gera and an exquisite turn and shot from the big man - and an assured performance from Roy Hodgson's men meant their progression to the final four of the competition was never really in doubt.

Wolfsburg never approached the heights of their impressive display against Manchester United at Old Trafford in the group stages of the Champions League earlier this season and, while improving slightly in the second half, showed little to trouble the visitors.

The only moment of danger to Mark Schwarzer's goal came in the 84th minute, when Dzeko's shot hit the post and Brede Hangeland was well placed to clear Grafite's follow-up effort off the line.

What appeared almost a nonchalant back-heeled clearance from the Norwegian summed up the Londoners display on the night.

"Is that all you've got?" he seemed to say and it appeared that is was as, less than 10 minutes later, Fulham were celebrating yet another famous victory in this stellar season.

Next up is Hamburg, with Hodgson's men travelling back to Germany for the first leg of their semi-final on April 22.

Fulham's journey in this competition began way back in July in qualifying but, should they beat a side that is only sixth in the Bundesliga, they would - unbelievably - return to Hamburg for the Europa League final on May 12.

And, on the eve of the Grand National, few would bet against them, especially with their thoroughbred Zamora in such irresistable form.
