THE BLUES have been linked with a cut-price transfer swoop for Barcelona star Ousmane Dembele.

The winger has struggled since his £135 million transfer from the German side Borussia Dortmund.

Dembele has suffered from multiple injuries that have hampered his development and stopped him from fulfilling the potential that he showed at Dortmund.

The Barcelona forward's contract expires at the end of the season and he would then be allowed to leave the Nou Camp for free.

This has led to the Catalan giants to set an asking price of £13 million for Dembele as they are trying to attract buyers.

A sale of Dembele would be beneficial to Barcelona, who are currently in financial difficulties and need to raise money quickly.

Dembele is clearly no longer wanted by new manager Xavi as he admitted that the player has not been missed when out of the team.

Xavi said: “Dembele is important but it is a club decision and we all agree on it - I don't think his absence has impacted the team.”

According to The Sun, Chelsea are among the clubs who are now considering a move for the 24-year-old.

If the move were to go ahead it would see manager Thomas Tuchel reunited with the player he coached at Dortmund.
