The owners of a Crossfit gym in Surbiton are celebrating an outstanding achievement after competing in the World Championship CrossFit Games in the US recently.

Surbiton Crossfit gurus Harrison Bell and Grace Lilley, who own Crossfit Gym Surbiton, "achieved their dream" after placing fourth at the coveted international competition in Wisconsin held July 27-August 1.

Along with their teammates, Nienke van Overveld and Jeremy Reijnders, Harrison and Grace took part in the three competitions ahead of the world championships, where the numbers were whittled down and they secured a place in the 40 fittest men, women and teams in the world to finally compete at the global games stateside.

The four-person team consequently threw themselves into the punishing 13 events, testing all elements of fitness from swimming, to strength, sprints and endurance.

Placing fourth reflected a stunning achievement, and the Crossfit Surbiton team, who carried a union flag with them covered in signatures and messages, were roundly praised for their efforts on Crossfit social media platforms.

Harrison and Grace run the CrossFit gym Motion Training in Surbiton, along with partner Dudley MacDonald. The gym first opened its doors in October 2018 and was an instant success within the local community, now boasting a membership of roughly 300 people.
