Brentford’s Thomas Frank insists his words were taken out of context ahead of the 1-1 draw with Leeds on Tuesday night but insisted Marcelo Bielsa’s side respected his Bees outfit.

It was reported that Bees boss Frank claimed the Whites ‘feared coming to Griffin Park’ and that it was the last place they’d want to visit in their form.

Leeds had lost their previous two fixtures ahead of their trip to West London and defeat would’ve seen free-scoring Brentford leapfrog the Yorkshire outfit into second place.

Captain Liam Cooper’s 40th minute poke-home cancelled out Said Benrahma’s opener after Kiko Casilla’s early error however to guarantee Bielsa’s men stayed above Frank’s in the table.

"Maybe they didn't fear us but I promise you they knew it would be a difficult task,” he said.

"I don't do mind games, I think it was very well done by some of you journalists that took things out of context.

“I said that you know how much I admire Bielsa and I think Leeds are one of the best teams.

“But with all the history and their current form and what Bielsa said about us in the press, they think we're a very good team.

"Leeds we know are one of the teams that create the most chances and in two games against us they created very little.

“They dominate every single game in this division.

“They definitely respected us.

"I think they would say the same that it was a deserved point.

“I don't know, of course, but I think that they will think they got a point at a very difficult ground.”
