Christian Norgaard has blossomed into one of the finest Championship midfielders this season according to his Brentford manager.

The Dane's form for the Bees this season saw the 25-year-old included in the squad for the recent internationals where they qualified for the Euro’s next summer.

Frank believes he’s established himself not just in his starting XI but in the higher reaches of the league’s best in that position since his move from Fiorentina in the summer.

“He’s been on their (Norway’s) radar for quite a while,” Frank said.

“But for various reasons he didn’t play much in Fiorentina, but he’s now back playing.

“And playing at an extremely high level.

“He’s performing so good and is one of the best number 6 positions in the league.”

Norgaard arrived from Italy in a £3million deal and initially found himself on the fringes of the starting XI before forcing his way into Frank’s ideas, a story similar to Bryan Mbeumo and Josh Dasivla in recent weeks.

“We’ve been working hard on the relationships on and off pitch is better,” Frank added.

“They’re trying to understand my ideas better.

“Christian’s performing at a good level, as is Bryan (Mbeumo), he’s still taking steps forward.

“Josh (Dasilva) too, he’s still getting into the team and getting that rhythm.”
