Christian Norgaard believes everything is in place for Brentford to push for promotion this season.

Arriving from Fiorentina the Dane has established himself in Thomas Frank’s midfield, starting the last four league fixtures.

Following Saturday’s 3-0 win over Derby County, the Bees sit 14th in the Championship as they go into the international break but the 25-year-old feels there’s much more to come from the Griffin Park outfit.

“The development we’ve got here is right, it’s extremely exciting to play here,” he said.

“To play the final season in this historic stadium – Griffin Park, to move to an amazing new stadium and have the ambition to go to the premier league, it couldn’t be a better club to be a part of.

“The ambition is to be up there, in the Premier league.

“There are ten or 15 other teams with that ambition, but if we work hard I believe we can be up there.”

Norgaard started his career with Hamburg before moves to Brondby and Fiorentina followed.

The £3.5million signing however feels the infrastructure in West London is superior to that where he’s been before and will prove the difference in the promotion race.

“I was in Fiorentina last season and I think the set-up here is more professional, everything is planned out to the smallest detail.

“Set pieces, goal kicks, all planned out to the smallest detail, and I think that’s what sets us apart from the other teams in the league, we really care about the smaller details.”

Norgaard settled into life on the pitch but has admitted the ease at which it was to settle in London with the support of the club around him.

“I love the club, love the people around the place and its been very easy to settle,” he continued.

“Since I came in on the first day they’ve been so kind, they welcome you like you’ve been part of it for a long time.

“It makes it easier for a player to be part of a team and perform at the highest level from the start. “Sometimes you go to a team and there’s a period of time, two or three months, you don’t know who to talk to, but it’s been so nice here.

“The fans have been amazing too, the way they approach you and are around you it’s so nice, it makes you feel part of it.

“Everyone, player, manager, coaches, fans everyone feeling a part of it.”
