The England Championships can only mean two things. One, the strawberries and cream have been prepared. Two, bookmakers are offering a whole host of promotional offers throughout the championships. Many are currently offering great bonuses for enthusiastic sports bettors for Wimbledon. You can bet here and have access to a great variety of competitive odds.

With the bookmakers offering lots of promotions for significant sporting events such as Wimbledon, Betfred is among them offering a whole range of enticing bonuses. Wimbledon never disappoints so it’s only fair that the bonuses you can claim fit the bill.

With that being said, there are a few dark horses for this year’s Championships. Of course, we have the usual powerhouses of the men's game such as Nadal, Federer and Djokovic however the rising talent of late has been challenging these legendary players. There a few names which could prove to be more of a challenge than others.

The Men’s Championships

One cannot dispute the fact that Djokovic and Nadal are firmly at the top of the men's game right now. To a certain extent, Roger Federer is still formidable in the men's game, especially on his favourite grass court surface. However, besides these players, there are some rising stars that could prove dangerous.

Karen Khachanov

He’s had a shaky 2019 season, but with such a dangerous game and his ability to generate such power from both wings, the Russian is a definite contender to challenge the big 3.

Felix Auger-Aliassime

The young Canadian teenager has had an amazing 2019 season. Having beaten multiple top 20 players during the hard court season, his talent is undeniable. With a big serve and the ability to flatten out his groundstrokes, he’s a player to watch for this year’s tournament.

Juan Martin Del-Potro

Unfortunately, an injury plagued 2019 season has affected Del Potro’s ability to consistently compete with the big 3. This being said, the friendly Argentine is a crowd favourite wherever he goes and Wimbledon is no exception. With arguably the most powerful forehand in the game, he can challenge anybody on the grass.

The Women’s Championships

With the Williams sisters not being the unstoppable force that they used to be, the women’s game has become increasingly open which provides an opportunity for the young and hungry players. With Naomi Osaka making the giant leap to world number 1, that is a huge amount of pressure on such young shoulders. There are also a whole host of young and fearless players to look out for.

Johanna Konta

The current British number 1, she will inevitably be a crowd favourite and is in great form right now. While she has never won a grand slam before, there is a first time for everything.

Garbine Muguruza

Although unusual that a Spaniard enjoys the quick grass courts, it’s clear that she knows how to play on grass with securing a title back in 2017.  She hasn’t been in good form through the 2019 season so maybe Wimbledon could be that familiar place to change things.

Angelique Kerber

As we know it’s no small feat to achieve on Wimbledon Centre Court so when the out of form German won the title last year defeating Serena Williams she maybe one to watch. Although she is having a rough season so far, she does love the grass courts and hits a hard and flat ball which is tough to deal with for any player.
