Harlequins have been busy over the last month ensuring they maintain the services of key personnel as they look to build on the impressive start to life under Paul Gustard.

Rising to third in the Gallagher Premiership and reaching the quarter-final of the Challenge Cup, the West London outfit have been the surprise package this season.

As clubs across the country battle to recruit the best talent for next season, Quins have acted swiftly and have tied no fewer than 12 players to their books for another season at least.

Danny Care, Jack Clifford, James Lang, Gabriel Ibitoye, James and Ross Chisholm, Archie White, Niall Saunders, Aaron Morris, Cadan Murley, Dino Lamb and Elia Elia have all signed up to the quartered colours.

England’s record-holding capped scrum half Danny Care, 32, expressed his delight at signing a new contract and echoed the thoughts of many at the club and it’s plight under Gustard.

“I’m delighted and incredibly proud to have signed for two more years with the club that I love,” said Care.

“I’ve had 13 amazing years here and I can’t wait to see what the next few will hold.

“I really believe that the Club is in a great place at the moment and we’re all working as hard as we can to get hold of some silverware soon.”

Head of Rugby Paul Gustard was equally full of praise for the man that arrived from Leeds in 2006.

“Danny epitomises all that is good about Harlequins and I know everyone at the Club joins me in congratulating him on his new contract.

“He has a huge part to play in our quest for future honours. He has been the self-proclaimed talisman of the squad before handing over the title to the ever-smiling Mike Brown.

“Titles, talisman or not, DC is a crucial player for this club.”

England international Clifford signed a three-year deal with the club he’s been at since the age of 13.

On signing the 25-year-old back rower who is currently with the England Six nations set-up said:

“It is a really exciting time to be here and I am so pleased to be a part of what I know will be a successful future at Harlequins. We all want to win trophies and we are going to have a lot of fun in our mission to get them.”
