Lyle Taylor will miss Charlton’s next three matches after his red card against Accrington Stanley was upheld.

Taylor and Stanley goalkeeper Jonny Maxted were both shown red cards in the 82nd minute of Charlton’s 1-0 win on Saturday.

Addicks boss Lee Bowyer confirmed at the final whistle they would be appealing the decision but the EFL have ruled not to overturn it.

Maxted’s red card has been rescinded however.

Taylor is set to miss the upcoming trips to Peterborough United, Fleetwood Town, as well as the February 9th home game against Southend United.

According to the FA website, Taylor’s misdemeanour description reads as: ‘Kicking-Violent Conduct.’
