Lyle Taylor scored against his former club as AFC Wimbledon slipped to the bottom of the League One table following their defeat to Charlton.

The 28-year-old netted on the hour mark before substitute Mark Marshall secured all three points with a well-struck effort to beat goalkeeper Joe McDonnell.

Wimbledon, who have now lost seven consecutive games away from home in the league this season, now have 15 points after 22 games.

Here’s how we rated AFC Wimbledon’s players…

Joe McDonnell – 6 – Was tested in the second half after a quiet first 45 minutes. Did brilliantly to thwart Nicky Ajose who looked to be one-on-one with him, not at fault for either goal.

Tennai Watson – 6 – Was clattered by Naby Sarr in under a minute and struggled against Tariqe Fosu at times, lost the ball poorly for Charlton’s first goal.

Will Nightingale – 6 – He was tasked with marking Taylor but it was a handful for him. The striker’s hold-up play was very good and Nightingale struggle to stop it when faced with him.

Terell Thomas – 5 – Didn’t do enough to prevent Taylor from getting on the end of Ajose’s cross for the opener, and was a bit late in coming over for the Marshall strike.

Ben Purrington – 6 – A decent performance, though Charlton didn’t have an out-and-out threat against him after the Sarr sending off.

Anthony Wordsworth – 6 – Made some important blocks, preventing Ben Reeves from pulling some dangerous passes in midfield, but his passing was wayward – partially due to the conditions.

Anthony Hartigan – 6 – Put in a shift to help shore up the midfield with his energy and work rate.

Tom Soares – 7 – Didn’t give Charlton any easy way through the centre of the park, however, he also blew Wimbledon’s best chance of the first 45 minutes.

Scott Wagstaff – 6 – Fosu was able to get past him with quick feet, even when he came back to defend, and going forward the final third execution wasn’t quite there.

Mitch Pinnock – 5 – Didn’t get to do much in 33 minutes, however, the second yellow was probably a bit harsh. First booking was deserved.

Andy Barcham – 7 – He helped connect play for Wimbledon going forward and had a lonely job up top after Pinnock’s sending off.
