Craig Tanner has been left encouraging by the pre-season form of strikers Sol Pinnock and Frankie Sawyer at Tooting & Mitcham.

Sawyer scored twice and Pinnock once in Saturday's 3-0 win over Banstead Athletic as both moved to three goals in three pre-season friendlies.

"It is encouraging that two of our three strikers have three goals in three games," said manager Tanner.

"Sol seems as though he is enjoying his football more. He didn't have a great time last year and wasn't enjoying playing but he seems to be now.

"It was a very bad pitch on Saturday as we were using the side pitch because they were staying off the main pitch to keep it good for the season.

"But it was good experience for us for when the pitches get worse later in the campaign."

Tanner hopes to complete his squad after tomorrow's friendly with Norwich City's U21 side, which is likely to include many players from their FA Youth Cup winning team of last season, at the KNK Stadium.

The Terrors have offered deals to two more players and expect answers tomorrow night, which if positive will finalise Tanner's recruitment.

The manager meanwhile held a question and answer session, alongside owner Steve Adkins, with fans on Monday night.

"I though it was a very positive meeting," said Tanner, who took over this summer.

"I opened it up to the supporters to ask questions and there was all the normal stuff about the squad and players and what we were looking to achieve.

"It also gave the owner a chance to tell everyone about his plans and what he is looking to achieve as well."
