Line of Duty star Craig Parkinson has married his partner Katie Popperwell, but he revealed he almost had to cancel the whole event.
The actor, who played Matthew 'Dot' Cottan in the popular BBC crime drama, announced the news in a heartfelt Instagram post.
The couple tied the knot in July at Old Marylebone Town Hall in a ceremony attended by close friends and family.
On an Instagram post, Parkinson said: "Posting this from the beach in Sicily so excuse any sand in the cracks but it is time to share our happy news.
"Back in July, Katie and I were married at Old Marylebone Town Hall with our family and a few close friends.
"We originally wanted to do something bigger, but mid-life is complicated, right?
"It really was a perfect day."
Craig Parkinson's wedding almost didn't happen
Parkinson described a few last-minute hiccups, including his phone being stolen at Paddington station the night before.
He said: "From the fact that we had a chic registrar from Leeds, to my dear friend Kenny Doughty taking care of my shattered nerves after my phone was nicked at Paddington the night before."
The couple also struggled to find a venue for their wedding lunch.
He said: "We almost had to cancel the whole thing when we couldn’t find anywhere for lunch, but Clipstone Restaurant emerged from the mist like a mystical wedding oasis with the most incredible sharing menu and the warmest hospitality.
"You try and find somewhere without steps for 40 people on World Cup Final day in central London."
Despite the challenges, Mr Parkinson called the day "the most magical" of their lives.
He said: "It’s hard not to fall into cliché when talking about this, but it really WAS the most magical day of our lives.
"Thank you to all of our family and friends that made the day so full of love."
He also confirmed they will be keeping their surnames.
Parkinson rose to fame for his role as Matthew 'Dot' Cottan in Line of Duty, appearing in the series until 2016.
He was introduced as a detective sergeant in the first series and became known for his complex and ultimately corrupt character.
When will Line of Duty be returning?
Filming for the upcoming series seven of Line of Duty has been concluded, and the BBC has confirmed it will be released at some point in 2027.

Vicky McClure, Adrian Dunbar and Martin Compston will be returning to their roles of DI Kate Flemming, Superintendent Ted Hastings and DI Steve Arnott, respectively.
The trio will be joined by Robert Carlyle, who will play DC Shaun Massie.
Other new cast members include Tom Weston-Jones as DI Dominic Gough, Laura Aikman as DC Paula Beckman, Levi Brown as DC Luke Tobin and Amy Leigh as DC Nira Rashid.
