Epsom's Rainbow Leisure Centre and spa was among the winners at this year's national ukactive awards.

The centre was a winner in the regional Best Club/Centre of the Year award for the London region.

The ceremony, which took place in Manchester on June 6, was part of Active Uprising, ukactive’s multi-day celebration of physical activity, recognising excellence throughout the sport, leisure and health and fitness.

Rainbow Leisure Centre and Spa is operated by GLL under its Better brand, in partnership with Epsom and Ewell Borough Council. The accolade celebrates the centre’s contribution to the community, the services it provides to get local people more active and its commitment to employee engagement and development.

Following a rigorous process, including customer insight surveys, as well as a mystery shop, mystery calls and a digital review from a panel of experts, the centre was named among the shortlisted entries, and announced as the winner to 800 guests at Manchester Central.

Simon Sen, regional director at GLL, said: “We are extremely proud to see Rainbow Centre and Spa recognised for its outstanding contribution to the local community.

“As a social enterprise, we exist to provide outstanding, accessible leisure facilities to get more people more active, more often.

“We are delighted to see that the feedback of our customers has played an integral part in winning this award and we are excited to continue our successful work in Epsom and Ewell.”
