With the festive season finally upon us, Epsom is about to get into the Christmas spirit with the annual lights switch on.

Head down to Epsom Market Place on November 22 at around 7pm to watch the Mayor of Epsom and Ewell switch on the Christmas tree and clock tower lights.

This year's Christmas lights switch on event will raise funds for the charity, Epsom Riding for the Disabled.

From 4pm until 8.30pm, the Market Place will be buzzing with excitement, family fairground rides, Santa’s grotto, a giant selfie snow globe, mulled wine and live entertainment from local dance and acting schools.

There is a string of Christmas events to look forward to over the next couple of months, such as Ewell Yule, from 5pm to 8pm in Ewell village on December 7.

The Christmas family event returns to town to fill the high street and Glyn Hall with food stalls, children’s rides and late night shopping.

If your little ones are partial to arts and craft, Christmas carols, face painting and winter barbecue, why not head down to Stoneleigh Broadway from 4pm on November 30?

For those who like to remember lost loved ones as Christmas approaches, Epsom Cemetery Chapel is holding a non traditional service with Christmas music at 11am on December 14.

Parking in a number of car parks will be free on the three Sundays before Christmas (December 9, 16 and 23).

These include the Ashley Centre, Town Hall, Hope Lodge, Depot Road and Upper High Street car parks.
