An Epsom and Ewell charity were given a boost when a disability charity donated hampers of food to them.

Age Concern Epsom and Ewell were helped out when The Sunnybank Trust’s weekly club made the donation.

The food donations were the idea of the Kites Club committee, which wanted to show its support to the many older people in the community who are faced with a similar sense of isolation.

Over two weeks, club members were encouraged to bring in a range of tinned and dried food.

The hampers were coordinated and decorated at the weekly club.

Mo Johnson of Age Concern said of the donation: 'We were really delighted to receive the gorgeous hampers from Jovie on behalf of the Kites Club members. How thoughtful.

“These hampers will be distributed to our clients in the run up to Christmas and they are always so happy to receive them. Thank you.”

CEO of The Sunnybank Trust, Dorothy Watson said: “It has been great to support Age Concern Epsom and Ewell with the hampers.

“It makes us realise how important our local community is and the invaluable work of local charities.”
