A group of friends and relatives are running in memory of an Epsom woman who sadly died after a 20-year struggle with cancer in December 2017.
The group all knew Charlotte Hutchinson, who worked at Epsom Hospital, in different ways and are getting ready to take part in the Race for Life in her name.
Her mum, some friends and other family members (including one cousin flying in from Australia) will be joined by the last nurse to take care of Charlotte when she was in hospital for the race on June 28.
One of the friends, Jessica Smallfield, said: "I know everyone says this about everyone else, but Charlotte really was one of the nicest people I have ever met. She was just incredibly generous and thoughtful.
"I can't imagine what it must have been like, but she stayed positive right until the end."
Charlotte ran the Race for Life herself every year, one time forming a group for an ill friend that she called "Mel's Girls"; the group running this year will be called "Char's Girls".
Ms Smallfield said: "They all rallied together a few years ago, and I thought it would be nice if we could reflect that for Charlotte."
Money raised will go to Cancer Research UK in Charlotte's memory.
