Father Christmas and carolling volunteers helped the Rotary Club of Banstead raise more than £10,000 for charities and social groups in December.

The group announced they had raised a whopping £10,854.89 - a new record for their Christmas drive - for the Royal Marsden, Age Concern, South East Cancer Care, Crossroads Care, the Macular Society, Home Start and scout groups.
The total smashed last year’s Christmas collection of £9,740.

This year the Rotary Club convinced Father Christmas to take time out of his busy schedule to ride his sleigh around Banstead, Nork, Tattenham and Tadworth and accept donations alongside volunteers and the Five Churches Choir in ASDA and Waitrose.
Father Christmas also put in an appearance at ASDA in Burgh Heath last month
At the club’s meeting on Tuesday, January 19, Karl Coppack will be speaking about the work of the British Heart Foundation.
