The annual Terrier Derby returned to Epsom for the 13th time on Sunday, running alongside the historic Epsom Downs Racecourse in aid of the Royal Marsden.
The dismal weather could do nothing to deter the 60 barking terriers who ran and the grand final was won by Lyra, a Parson Jack Russell owned by Michelle Blackwell.
A prize raffle, and a Best Turned-Out Dog competition rounded off the day, which raised more than £1,000 for the cancer charity.
Bob Pain of Omni Colour, who sponsored the derby, said: "It was a hilarious spectacle for the audience and participants alike.
"We even sold some ‘his and hers’ doggie hats, crafted by our master milliner, Jessica Rea."
Donations can still be made on the JustGiving page at www.justgiving.com/owner-email/pleasesponsor/terrierderbybob, or by texting BDEX followed by the amount donated to 70070.
