A pub which has been closed for two years is being restored to its former glory with a £750,000 investment.

Works began on the Blue Ball, in Deans Lane, Walton on the Hill, after new licensees Whitting and Hammond took over the award-winning pub.

The 12-week refurbishment project, scheduled to be complete in mid August, will also create a new dining area, transform the kitchen and see a new coffee bar installed along with redecoration throughout the pub.

Along with the refurbishment, 35 new jobs are expected to be created.

Brian Whiting, managing director of Whiting and Hammond, said: “This is an exciting time and we look forward to reopening the Blue Ball and making it a great local pub for Walton on the Hill once again.”
