On Sunday July 6th Park Hill Cricket Club held its second annual charity match to raise essential funds for Headley Court Military Hospital.

The day of cricket commenced at 1pm at Park Hill’s our home cricket ground of Deando and went right through to 8pm due to the excellent sunny weather.

This year, in addition to inviting a team of medical staff from Headley, there was also a guest team made up mostly from ex-service personnel, many of whom personally knew the Headley medical staff and wanted to use the event as an opportunity for a reunion with old friends.

While the three teams battled it out playing a triangular 9-a-side tournament, families and supporters enjoyed the Bouncy Castles, BBQ, Face Painting and Bar facilities that were available throughout the day.

Initial calculations indicate that the event raised in the region of £500 for Headley Court, which can be put directly into the purchase of additional physiotherapy equipment to assist the rehabilitation of wounded military personnel.

This event is our way show our appreciation for the amazing medical care that these professionals provide to our wounded service personnel.

When added to last year’s figure, this means that Park Hill Cricket Club has raised approximately £1,200 for Headley Court over the last two years.
