I was appalled by the attitude of building workers on Waterloo Road this morning. They were shifting rubble onto a large truck parked outside the launderette, completely blocking the pavement.

They were telling pedestrians - rather abruptly - to "go around", gesturing towards the road. So all pedestrians – the elderly, heavily pregnant, small children etc, were being ordered to cross a busy road at a point of low visibility - at rush hour! How is it legal to completely block a busy public footpath with no warning signs and no provision for pedestrians to pass safely?
