The Surrey Comet’s hunt for Kingston’s most wanted has gone international in a bid to help police track down people believed to have fled the country.

The 11 suspects include alleged burglars, thieves, a taxi tout, a money launderer and a lettings agent who is suspected of pocketing deposits held on behalf of landlords.

Police believe they are in destinations as far away as Afghanistan, Australia, US, South Korea, Denmark, Poland and Hong Kong.

The success of the Surrey Comet’s monthly appeal to find people wanted in connection with incidents in the borough prompted the police to widen their search overseas.

Information supplied by readers helped officers make arrests and some of the suspects we have listed have handed themselves in, including an alleged gun toting assailant and a man accused of threatening hospital staff.

Detective Inspector John Turner, who launched the Most Wanted scheme, said: “Kingston police are committed to tracing all suspects wanted in connection with criminal allegations or those who have failed to appear at the magistrates’ or Crown courts.

“I urge the public to call Kingston police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, with information about the location of any of the people in this international edition of Kingston’s most wanted. They may be abroad or may have returned.

“I would like to thank the Surrey Comet for its continued assistance in tracing wanted offenders and assisting Kingston police to bring them to justice.”
