Pupils from a Coulsdon school are celebrating after Caterham Round Table splashed out £5,000 to help keep their swimming pool open.
The urgently-needed cash has been put towards replacing the pool’s deteriorating liner, which is among £20,000 of repairs Chipstead Valley Primary School needs to make to keep the facility open.
Headteacher Mark Rosewell said: “The £5,000 is a crucial and much welcomed contribution towards ensuring that (the pool) remains open in the longer term.”
Anyone interested in joining the round table can contact chairman Glen O’Dwyer on 01883 336633.
