The secrets of Richmond’s cycling charms have been revealed in a new book.
And, following the release of Jules Selmes’s new Cycling traffic-free London, keen cyclists from across London will likely be flocking to the borough to discover some of the picturesque routes already enjoyed by residents.
Routes featured in the book include a 5.65-mile Ham Common to Richmond Lock loop, which takes in Ham Common, Marble Hill Park and the riverside, a 6.3-mile amble from Richmond Lock to Richmond via Kew Bridge, a 3.7-mile loop around Barnes and Kew bridges and an 8-mile cycle from Putney to Barnes bridge and back.
Or for those who are feeling really fit there is even a 14-mile Kingston to Teddington Lock cycle which passes by Hampton Court Palace and through Bushy Park, taking in landmarks such as the Diana Fountain and the National Physical Laboratory along the way.
