A group of unfit dads from Old Malden and Worcester Park completed a charity bike ride on Saturday, June 12, in tribute to a popular scout leader who died in November.

Scout leader Tim Eggitt, who was treated by the London Air Ambulance before he died, inspired John Mundy his friends to raise money for people who will need similar help.

Mr Mundy said: “Tim had touched the lives of all of us through the scouts and we decided it would be good to do something for the London Air Ambulance to show our appreciation of Tim’s achievements.”

Most of the team had not ridden a bike for 25 years so the 113-mile round-trip from Worcester Park to Brighton was a challenge, but a deserving one.

A few dodgy route decisions saw the team scaling a huge hill unnecessarily and cycling some of route down the busy A24 dual carriageway.

The team has already raised more than £3,000. Visit justgiving.com/KT4wheezers to boost their fundraising total.
