Firefighters have saved the home of a services family after an electrical fault started a ferocious fire in the kitchen.
The fire in a home in The Keep, Kingston started while the family were away from the house on holiday and Kingston fire crews were called at 6.20pm last night.
They broke the door down and found a fire which had been burning for some time due to an electrical fault.
One of the Kingston crew said: "The guys done well and probably saved the house going up."
The Royal Military Police attended the fire but the family was away at the time.
