Epsom's Charmille Dance Collective in Dance World Cup bid

Charmille Dance Collective (CMDC) will take to the stage in Dublin as part of the England delegation at the global competition. It is believed to be the first time an Epsom team has qualified.

Charlotte Liddle, co-founder of CMDC, said: "We are thrilled that one of our groups and two solo dancers have been selected to represent Team England at the Dance World Cup in Dublin next year. This is a huge achievement for the team and a testament to their dedication and talent."

The team is made up of Epsom dancers and was founded by Charlotte and her sister, Millie, who are both graduates of the Laine Theatre of Arts.

They have previously competed in national competitions and recently placed second at the All England dance competition in 2024.

Millie said: "We are so proud of the girls and how far they have come in such a short time. Their dedication and hard work have been incredible, and they truly deserve this opportunity."

The Dance World Cup will take place from July 8 to 18, 2026, at The Convention Centre in Dublin.

More than 120,000 competitors from more than 73 countries are expected to take part.

Before then, the team will need to raise funds to help cover the cost of travelling to Ireland.

Jimmi Double, a supporter of the group, said: "This is one of the most prestigious international dance competitions, bringing together talented young performers from across the globe.

"Qualifying for this event is an incredible achievement and, to our knowledge, the first time a dance team from Epsom has qualified, making it a hugely significant milestone for our dancers and our local community."

Charmille Dance Collective is based in Epsom and regularly competes in regional and national competitions across the UK.

The team is now focused on training and fundraising to give their dancers the best chance at success on the world stage.
