Four men were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was reportedly stabbed during a group fight.

Herts Police provided the update this afternoon (April 30) after circulating footage showed a mass brawl in Parnell Close, Abbots Langley, at around 7.35pm on Friday (April 26).

Around seven people were involved and a man was taken to hospital with a suspected stab wound. His injuries are not life-changing or life-threatening. 

Four men who remained at the scene were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, a force spokesperson said. They have since been bailed pending further enquiries.

Officers are still trying to find the remaining people involved.

Detective Inspector Dan Bhamra, from the Three Rivers Local Crime Unit, said: “I appreciate this will be alarming for the local community. I would like to reassure everyone that this is believed to be an isolated incident and there is not believed to be a wider risk to the public. 

“As we work to understand the full circumstances of the incident, I’d like to thank members of the public who have been assisting us with our investigation.

“If you witnessed the incident and have not yet spoken to police, please do get in contact as you may have vital information that could help progress our enquiries.”

An East of England Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called just after 7.30pm on Friday, April 26, to Parnell Close in Abbots Langley.

"Two ambulances, a rapid response vehicle, two ambulance officer vehicles, three vehicles from the Hazardous Area Response Team, two vehicles from the Beds & Herts Emergency Critical Care Scheme and the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance were sent to the scene.

"An adult man was airlifted to a London hospital for treatment.”
