A person has died after being hit by a train near Teddington station.
A casualty on the tracks was reported to police between Kingston and Teddington at around 5am today (April 24).
The person was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after.
The incident is not thought to be suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
All lines were closed as the incident was dealt with which caused major disruption on Southwestern Railway services until 10am.
A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: “Police received a report shortly after 5am today (24 April) to a casualty on the tracks near Teddington station.
“Paramedics also attended however sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The incident is not thought to be suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
