Burst water main on Kingston Hill causes road closures

  • Firefighters have dealt with a large burst water main on Kingston Hill which caused a number of road closures.
  • There were ten fire engines and around 70 firefighters attending the incident.
  • Access to Kingston Hospital is currently limited and patients need to enter through the main car park entrance, via Coombe Road.
  • Bus route 85 and K3 are being diverted.
  • Thames Water has said that it is hoping to reduce the size of the closure by tonight but repairs will take at least two weeks.
  • The road shows signs of severe damage.
