The A3 remains closed in both directions following a “serious collision” that involved a pedestrian in the early hours of the morning.

Surrey Police were called to the Send and Guildford junction at around 2am this morning (January 11) to the crash.

Officers say circumstances into the incident are unknown, but enquiries are ongoing.

Police are appealing to anyone with any information or dashcam footage in the area between 1.20am and 2.30am by quoting reference PR/P22006930 via online or calling 101.

A Surrey Police spokesperson said: “We are appealing for information following a serious collision on the A3 in the early hours of this morning (11 January)

“We were called to the A3 between the Send Junction and Guildford Junction at around 2am following reports of a pedestrian being involved in a serious collision.

“Circumstances into the collision are unknown but enquiries are ongoing.

“The road is currently closed in both directions.

“We are appealing to anyone with any information or dashcam footage in the area between 1.20AM and 2:30am to contact us quoting reference PR/P22006930 via online or calling 101.”
