A man has been arrested following a stabbing in Epsom.

The stabbing happened in Victoria Place just after 4.15am on Sunday

The victim, a 22-year-old man, was taken to hospital - where he remains in a stable condition.

On Tuesday evening, police arrested a 19-year-old man from Dorking on suspicion of attempted murder in connection with the assault.

He remains in custody and enquiries are ongoing.

A spokesperson for Surrey Police said: "Officers investigating a stabbing which took place in Epsom on Sunday (12 December) have arrested a man on suspicion of attempt murder.

"Yesterday evening investigating officers arrested a 19-year-old man from Dorking in connection with this assault.

"He remains in custody and enquiries are ongoing.

"We are continuing to appeal to anyone who may have witnessed anything or have any further information around this assault to contact us.
