A man has been taken to hospital following a stabbing in the early hours of Sunday morning in Epsom.

The stabbing happened in Victoria Place just after 4.15am.

A 22-year-old man was taken to hospital for medical treatment.

The South East Coast Ambulance Service told police who attended and established a crime scene.

This was kept secure for several hours to preserve forensic opportunities.

A Surrey Police spokesperson said on Sunday: "We are appealing for witnesses after a stabbing took place in Epsom in the early hours of this morning (12 December).

"Police were made aware by the South East Ambulance Service of a stabbing victim on Victoria Place by the South East Coast Ambulance Service just after 4.15am.

"A 22-year-old man was taken to hospital to receive medical treatment.

"Police attended the location and established a crime scene, which was kept secure for several hours to preserve any forensic opportunities.
